Another great Hawaiian Saturday morning! We welcomed Honolulu City Council Chair Todd Apo and Council member Conovan Delacruz to discuss their positions regarding how cultural and burial sites would be handled if they are found in the path of the Honolulu Rail Transit project. We also heard about the great work Inpeace Hawai’i is doing in the area of early childhood education from Keiki Steps Program Director Lisa Pakele and P-3 Keiki Steps to Kindergarten Program Director Kanoelehua Renaud. A parent of a Keiki Steps participant, Sam Kapoi, came by also to share his experiences, too. If you’d like to find out more about the many Keiki Steps sites around the state, call 693-7222 or check www.inpeace.hawaii.org.
Our ‘olelo no’eau for the day was: He la’au ku ho’okahi, He lehua no Ka’ala. A lone tree, a lehua of Ka’ala. An expression of admiration for an outstanding person, unequalled in beauty, wisdon and skill.
