Na Kai Ewalu – 27 June 2009

July 2, 2009 by admin

Rocking morning with Chamme Ann Keawe from Pearl City High School, Tiara Lima from Island Pacific Academy, Kaulalani Robins from Sacred Hearts, Kristen Wong from Punahou and Jasmine Foster representing all you on Maui and King Kekaulike High. These firecrackers are this year’s participants in the Harvard Medical School Native American Summer Program. These high school students will be going to the Cambridge campus for three weeks of experience in the biomed field, great for the high school resume and for checking career options. The Pa’i Foundation administers applications for this summer program as their Ho’oulu Project. Why not find out more at www.paifoundation.org.

We don’t know who will have more fun, the students or this year’s chaperones, Hinaleimoana Falemei and Keoki Nailiili. In their regular livesHinalei is director of culture at Halau Lokahi Public Charter School and Keoki is a doctoral student and graduate advisor at USC. We had a lot of spirit and purpose around the kitchen table today!
